Bought this to spare my back and my hand from slobber when playing fetch with our 3 y/o Labradoodle. Anyone with a doodle knows they require lots of exercise and our big boy is no exception! It’s great to have something like this to help with that while playing in our back yard. I like that it’s small/thin and takes up very little space in the entry closet or under my car seats for trips to the dog park. I can also strap it to the cross bar of my bike if needed! It works well with the chuck it ultra balls which I bought to go with it. Just a word of warning, your dog really needs to be trained to "drop it" if this is going to be of any benefit to you. If you have to bend over to pull the balls out of the dogs mouth, you may as well save your money and just throw it yourself. The real benefit in this product is not having to touch the balls and get your hands all slobbery or bend all the way over time and time again to pick them up. Highly recommend! I did NOT receive this for free or at a discount!!

Awesome throwing tool to keep your hands clear from dirt, debri and the ever lasting dog slobber. I have a mixed breed dog for whom for months she wanted nothing to do with balls to fetch, but now she is very interested and seems intent on popping each and every racquet, rubber, tennis and other balls we have for her. I have found that chuck it balls are extremely hard to break or pop and this creates a challenge for her. This product comes with a tennis ball instead of the rubber balls. I gave this ball to another friend of mine for her dog, because mine just tears the "fuzz" off any kind of tennis ball and then proceeds to eat the fuzz (Not really so good for her). I use this to not have to touch the drool infused balls that Seven likes to bring back to me. At the dog park here in Las Cruces, NM there are lots of tennis balls and as long as we are playing fetch she doesn’t tear them up, but as soon as we stop playing she starts to chew.
I bring this thrower and her rubber balls to the park so that she will bring back the balls without trying to tear them up like it’s her mission. I Like this thrower because I can also use it with tiht regular tennis balls and larger racquet balls for a unique throwing and fetching experience.
I highly recommend this product if you have a dog that fetches but you are tired of having to carry a towel to keep your hands free of dirt, stone, grass stains and drool.
I really love this product as it keeps me from having to carry extra things to the park, like towels, and extra balls that my dog looses when playing with tennis balls.

Excellent Product. I have 2 Labs that love to play fetch. This is the 3rd one I have purchased. It is easy to pickup a standard tennis ball and throw 100 feet or more ! No more touching that dirty, slobber filled ball. I will admit that there is a small learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll love it.
Before trying to throw the ball, just get the feeling for the Chuckit. Just press the cup end over the ball and it will go inside the cup. Hold the handle at shoulder level in front of you with the launcher extended over your shoulder with the ball behind you (the ball should be facing up). At this point the launcher should be parallel to the ground. Turn your wrist down, this will move the chuckit from a parallel to the ground position to straight up and down position (perpendicular to the ground). Try it a little faster, and you will see the ball will come out. Depending on when you stop your motion, the balls flight path will vary. The faster you ship the Chuckit, the further it will fly.

i’m obsessed with this. a fellow dog owner told me this thing changed his life. i buy from amazon constantly, but this was the thing i was waiting with anticipation for, constantly looking out the window for the ups guy. we watch a dog every day, she’s got a ton of energy and i love to make her happy.
before we got this, we always kicked lacrosse balls across the backyard for her to chase.
problems we faced before getting this:
1. when i kicked the ball, it would get very dirty.
2. when i kicked the ball, about 1/3 of the time our dog would jump in front of it, so the ball would hit her with a good amount of force in the gut or legs. not good. also, when the ball would sometimes hit her, it would come right back to me instead of going across the yard, so she didn’t have to expend the energy to run across the yard and back. a lot of false starts.
then this came. i ordered it with the 2 balls, i didn’t even try the tennis ball it came with.
now, using this launcher:
1. i never have to touch the slimy ball.
2. the ball flings all the way across the yard, every time. i aim down so that the ball never goes over the fence into the neighbor’s yard.
3. the ball makes a cool but not too loud whooshing sound.
4. i no longer accidentally hit the dog with the ball.
5. i can keep her constantly running, which she loves.
i was hoping this would tired her out more quickly, but it does not. she is a true freaky dog and does not get tired, but at least the constant running without the false starts helped her get her energy out. and i had a lot of fun using it.
in short, i am IN LOVE with this. to those of you who are wondering, no, this will not fit a typical lacrosse ball.
also i am about 5’8 and i do have to bend to pick up the ball with this, so if you have back problems this may not be for you.
also, be aware, you can’t tell from this listing, but there are other listings (look on amazon chuck it! and you’ll see different ads for ball launchers with different measurements) that show this comes in different lengths. 18, 25, 26, etc. see which one you prefer.
if this was helpful to you please hit yes below. i don’t get paid for this, i just get happy when i know my writing helps people. i could not possibly recommend this thing more highly.

I’ve spent a lot of money on these … just trying to get the size of the tennis ball. My Golden Retriever eats the “skin” off the balls that come with this product … within a day … and I find it hazardous for her … SO – I really needed the one that is sized for a tennis ball … After 3 tries … I got it right on my 4th try … lol … all of the reviews and questions seemed to cover all sizes so it was hard to tell what the heck I was ordering … but this product is GREAT … I’m disabled and it is really hard for me to bend over while playing w/ my dog … so this is great for me to keep her active – me out of increased pain … my hands clean -lol… and everyone’s happy – I do wish that the company would make a better ball … but either way … this has been a life saver for me and my Gracie girl!

I’ve ordered two of these from Amazon and so far, I’ve only received orange launchers. You don’t get a choice, so you can expect to get a color you don’t want. Who cares? Certainly not the dog. Yes, I own a lab. He is a slave to a tennis ball. His favorites are the Kong squeaky tennis balls and this lancher work perfectly with them. He has worn down teeth from chewing on and stripping the covers off tennis balls and we like the Kong squeaky ones because they are softer than other tennis balls.
The Chuckit balls that come with this launcher are particularly solid. If you throw like a girl….like I do… you don’t want to accidentally throw that ball into the side or top of your dog or it will definitely leave a mark. Even worse, if your dog likes to catch the ball in mid-air (without a bounce first) it could leave the poor thing with loose teeth. I leave the Chuckit balls at the dog park for others to use.
I find these essential for my dog. He must be run twice daily or he drives me up the wall with his energy and barking. Rx: Twice a day: Five to fifteen minutes of chasing a squeaky ball at the park or in the back yard and then he’s a pleasure to live with. Labs have to get their exercise and it gives me some much needed exercise too. This launcher will throw a ball over 1/4 mile without a problem. It’s also nice that you can pick up that slimy, slobbery ball without even stooping over…
Bottom line: definitely worth the money. I prefer this version because of the padded handle which is more comfortable and easier to use than other sizes/options.

So I needed another Chuckit the one I had an original it is 5 years old and still going strong, I use it every day and had no complaints. I just needed a second for our second car so we alway have one regardless of which car we are in. I saw the “PRO” and the more comfortable Rubber handle and assumed the chuckit might be an upgrade over the original. Well the handle is more comfortable, the white color is nice, but the chuckit is stiff and releases the ball late resulting in a ground ball that does not get much distance. With my old original I am able to do nice long high lobs which my dog likes because she catches the ball on the first bounce. So I returned the Pro and and found the Ultra which advertised to be more like the Original with a more comfortable rubber handle. Again the handle is nice but again the chuckit is fine for ground balls but I could not achieve a high long distance lob. So I returned it and purchased the classic and found that although it was a little stiffer than my 5 year old one I was able to reproduce the high long lobs by slightly modifying my technique. Some dogs (many dogs) won’t track a ball through air and need to chase it on the ground if that is your dog the Pro or Ultra might be fine…..the Pro handle is better the Ultra chuck it I think works better. But for me the original is the best although I wish it had a rubber handle.

This is a great tool to help save arms while playing with the dog. My dog loves to run. My arm was sore with the repetitive motion of throwing more than 10 times. Plus my arm did not throw far. This launcher allows me to throw a ball a good distance so my dog can run and I can keep throwing until he is worn out. The ultra launcher has a good feel and does throw the ball far with little effort. This has been a great toy for my dog. A caveat, we use the chuck it rubber balls instead of the tennis balls. The rubber ball last a lot longer with my boy. Only issue is that sometimes the rubber balls take a bounce that is powerful with this launcher and end up bouncing over the fence.
